“Retrospection” by Up2date, Flashback Fashion Trendsetter Muslims in Indonesia

The rapid development of Muslim fashion in Indonesia raises new hope for the local brand designers and other industry players, it is not impossible that one day Indonesia will be known as the fashion center of the Muslim world. It is also the vision of the Muslim fashion brand famous, Up2date, you just hold a demonstration of its latest collection “Retrospection”, Tuesday (8/1) then.

“Retrospection” is interpreted as “memories back; view behind” invites us to reminisce and look back collection ever shown in the early days of its existence in the year 2005-2006. The Muslim fashion lovers may already know how popular trends spandex material or Moslem comfort with jersey material pioneered by Up2date in that year. “Chic, Comfort, Covered Up”, the three design principles that bring Up2date become Muslim fashion trendsetter today.

Theme of “Retrospection” is an interpretation of the retrospective collection Up2date in 2005-2006 against the backdrop of the elements of fashion in the 1950s-1960s era and then sublimated into a current style.

The demonstration consists of 60 sets of clothing and a collection of four sub-themes, (Ocean Motion, Country Retreat, Femme Valiant, and Luxury Looks) leading Muslim fashion designer who is also owner of Up2date, Irna Pearl, and his design team create a look that is light and casual fashion , which in fact is not only attractive in the eyes of the hijabers, but also the women who did not use the hijab.

Not just any fashion show, Up2date also launched a book series entitled “CLOTH TALK – Things you need” which features tips to look stylish in Muslim dress as well as must-have items for the hijabers. And the next day (9/11), Up2date had just opened his store to-26 in Alam Sutera, BSD.

“In 2013 I want to be able to have Up2date concept store abroad,” says Irna Pearl is also famous for its collection of special wedding dress Muslim, Irna La Perle.

Irna Hope is also fully supported by the government. “We believe Up2date are locomotives, which can invite ‘carriages’ that other fashion brand to go ahead and follow Up2date.” said Director General of Small and Medium Industries (SMI) Ministry of Industry, Euis Saidah.
